Experimental Study on the Distribution Characteristics of CO2 in Methane Hydrate-Bearing Sediment during CH4/CO2 Replacement

چکیده
CH4/CO2 replacement is of great significance for the exploitation natural gas hydrate resources and CO2 storage. The feasibility this method relies on our understanding efficiency mechanism. In study, experiments were carried out to study distribution characteristics CH4 in hydrate-bearing sediments during after replacement. Similar previously reported data, also implied that process could be divided into two stages: fast reaction slow reaction, representing hydrate-gas interface bidirectional diffusion caused replacement, respectively. After content gradually decreased, methane increased with increase sediment depth. Higher percentage can achieved higher temperature lower initial saturation hydrate. Based calculation consumption amounts, it was found mainly took place stage while formation by gaseous water almost runs through whole experimental process. Thus, pore scale summarized following steps: injection, diffusing sedimentary layer, occurrence formation, wrapping mixed CH4-CO2 hydrate, continuous stagnant

Experimental Measurement of Methane and Ethane Mole Fractions during Gas Hydrate Formation
The super-saturation condition has to be provided to form gas hydrates. Consequently, the prediction of the guest molecule fraction in the aqueous phase is crucial in the study of the gas hydrate kinetics. In the present work, several experiments were carried out in a semi-batch reactor in order to determine the mole fraction of methane and ethane during gas hydrates formation (growth stage...
متن کاملEvaluation of Different CH4-CO2 Replacement Processes in Hydrate-Bearing Sediments by Measuring P-Wave Velocity
The replacement of methane with carbon dioxide in natural gas hydrate-bearing sediments is considered a promising technology for simultaneously recovering natural gas and entrapping CO2. During the CH4-CO2 replacement process, the variations of geophysical property of the hydrate reservoir need to be adequately known. Since the acoustic wave velocity is an important geophysical property, in thi...
